Planes stay in the sky due to the principles of aerodynamics. Engines provide thrust to move forward, and wings are shaped to create lift by splitting airflow; this lift counters gravity, keeping the plane aloft.
Planes stay in the sky thanks to lift, a force generated by the aerodynamic shape of their wings. As air flows over and under the wings, it creates a pressure difference, with lower pressure on top, lifting the plane against gravity.
